Eran Lahav is an OSINT analyst and a middle east researcher, a terrorism expert, specialising in global Jihad, Iran proxies and disinformation. Eran serves as the Head of the Middle East Department at the David Institute for Policy & Research of IDSF.
Eran leads the Middle East Department, directing high-impact research, strategic analysis, and policy guidance on major regional topics, including national security, radical islamist groups, special regional actors, terrorism, regional dynamics, and security challenges across the Middle East.
He is the founder of “Mabaterror ” - a terrorism research and analysis Initiative, and he hosts the podcast “Al Hakavenet” ("In the Crosshairs") on terrorism, the Arab world, security, and the Middle East.
Eran is the author of ‘The Exporter’, the first-ever Hebrew-language biography of Qasem Soleimani, the former IRGC Quds Force commander and ‘The Code of Jihad’, a unique guide on the root of global Jihad groups and their threat on the west.
Eran’s background merges rigorous intelligence experience with global communications and analysis. He has extensive professional experience as social media intelligence (SOCMINT) analyst and even served as an analyst for a student project at the Counterterrorism Headquarters of the National Security Council.
In his IDF service, Eran served as an analyst in the Intelligence Corps.
He also worked in Israeli missions abroad and worked in public relations and diplomacy. Subsequently, he worked in digital marketing and content management in social media networks in Berlin.
Eran has been publishing extensive research papers on various topics regarding Islamic terrorism, global Jihad, Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, Hezbollah, Isis, Al-Qaeda, Syria of Al-Jolani, Iran, Iran proxy groups, Iran disinformation activity, the use of AI by terrorist groups, the Isreali-Palestinian conflict among others.
Eran published multiple articles and analyses in leading publications, including Newsweek, Epoch Times, Bild, Express.at, L’informale, Toyo Keizai, Israel Hayom, Ynet, Makor Rishon, the Jerusalem Post and more.
In addition to his work as Head of the Middle East Department and terrorism researcher, Eran is an entrepreneur in OSINT and AI, serves as a mentor within Berlin’s dynamic young entrepreneurs community and provides digital marketing & OSINT services. He speaks four languages: native Hebrew, native level proficiency in English, Arabic and German.
