Overview
A new joint U.S.–Israeli command center is being established in Kiryat Gat, manned by 200 U.S. soldiers under CENTCOM command. The base will host representatives from 12 countries — including Greece, Denmark, Jordan, the UAE, and Spain.
At the Kiryat Gat base, Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated that Hamas’s refusal to disarm constitutes a breach of the agreement, though no enforcement mechanism was specified.
Despite Netanyahu’s firm opposition to any Turkish military role, Turkey’s Defense Ministry announced readiness to deploy troops to the International Stabilization Force (ISF) peace mission.
Hamas violated the ceasefire after less than a week after the hostages were returned and killed 2 IDF soldiers.
Hamas is reasserting control inside Gaza- it is collecting unexploded ordnance and other battlefield material to build explosives, is executing political opponents and have deployed a local police/enforcement force.
On Saturday, October 25, President Trump posted on Truth Social that Hamas is delaying hostage releases over disagreements regarding demilitarization, saying he would monitor the situation over the next 48 hours.
