For years, Israel and Iran waged a covert war — one of assassinations, cyberattacks, and sabotage via its proxies. That shadow conflict burst into daylight during Israel’s “Rising Lion” operation in June, now known as the 12-Day War. In less than two weeks, Israel launched a direct, coordinated assault on the heart of Iran’s nuclear and missile programs. Israel’s offensive was swift and targeted. Nuclear facilities at Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan were all struck, dozens of senior Iranian nuclear and military figures killed, and over 65% of Iran’s missile launch systems were destroyed.
